Start with your guests' experience
This is the part your clients will actually judge you on, so start here rather than with your own admin dashboard:
- Does a guest need to download an app, or can they get photos in a browser or existing chat app like WhatsApp?
- How long does check-in take - scan, selfie, done, or is it a multi-step signup?
- Is there a way for guests to browse everyone's photos without a selfie, for people who'd rather not register their face at all?
- Can guests add family members - kids, elderly parents - who might struggle with a selfie-based flow on their own?
Then look at what it costs you to run
Pricing structure matters more than the headline number, since it changes how costs scale with your actual shooting volume:
- Is it a per-event pack, an ongoing subscription, or storage-based tiers - and which matches how often you shoot?
- What happens to guest access and stored photos if you don't renew - do galleries go dark immediately?
- Are premium features (watermarking, custom branding, priority support) gated behind a higher tier you'll actually need?
- Is there a genuinely usable free trial, or does the free tier only work for a demo, not a real event?
Finally, check what it does for your studio's brand
The photos are the product, but the delivery experience is part of your brand too:
- Can you watermark photos with your own logo, and does that require re-uploading if you change it later?
- Is there a custom domain or subdomain option, or does every gallery link show the platform's own name instead of yours?
- Does the platform give you any way to be discovered - a portfolio page, SEO-indexed profile - or is it purely a delivery tool?
- What happens automatically without you doing manual follow-up - do guests who checked in early get notified once photos are ready, or is that on you to track?
Picsora is built around these exact answers
We built Picsora with these questions in mind: no-app guest delivery via QR-and-selfie or the WhatsApp AI Agent, an Everyone Gallery Link for guests who skip the selfie, automatic Pre-Join Notify follow-up, dual watermark branding, a Google-indexed studio portfolio, and a subscription that starts with 1 month free and 10 GB storage so you can test it against a real event before deciding.
